What Windows Version Are You Running?

What version of Windows are you running? Is it Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate? Are you still running Windows Vista? I hope not. Maybe you’re still running Windows Xp, in which case it would be a good idea to move to Windows 7.

I am running Windows 7 Professional mostly because it’s the version that is best for me. Ultimate to me seems to be just a waist of money, and putting Bitlocker and Language Packs as the only main thing in Ultimate just doesn’t sell it to me. In Windows Vista you needed a special chip on your motherboard to run Bitlocker, I think that might have changed with Windows 7.

Windows Xp users can’t really upgrade to Windows 7 since you cannot do an in place upgrade to the new Operating System (OS). So I can understand why some people are sticking with Xp. Users of Windows Vista can perform in place upgrades. For me I prefer Clean Installs over In Place Upgrades. Mostly because it’s nice to have a clean OS to start on, especially in the Registry.
